Federico Rojas, Ph.D.
hands-on laboratory work, he has completed numerous custom synthesis requests, bulk catalog productions, and GMP projects. In his current role, Dr. Rojas supervises the production of the company’s catalog products, providing expert synthetic guidance to the production team while implementing process development initiatives to optimize reaction yields and address impurity formation. He also plays a critical role in custom synthesis and R&D endeavors, leveraging his expertise in peptide synthesis, small molecule development, and organic mechanisms.
A native of Costa Rica, Dr. Rojas earned his MS and PhD degrees in Chemistry from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at UT Southwestern, where he specialized in MRI contrast agents. This strong academic foundation provided him with advanced expertise in the preparation of small peptides via solid-phase synthesis and proficiency in key analytical techniques, including NMR, HPLC, LC-MS, and FTIR, which continue to enhance his contributions to Macrocyclics’ production and research efforts.
Federico spent two years as Principal Scientist at Orano Med, where he led the preclinical peptide chemistry team. Fluent in English, Spanish, and French, Dr. Rojas brings exceptional communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a positive demeanor to his work, making him an asset to both the company and its clients.
